Where I Write: Megan Allen

OLL Interns @ Fri, 2009-10-09 18:43

My writing space is fairly new, but improved! Multiple notebooks sit waiting with info already written in them, or waiting for notes to be scratched into the paper. Two binders sit with random information found from the internet, and another with notes and excerpts from my current novel. A drawer and shelf space are packed with my drawing tablet, reference books, language dictionaries, candles, games, and anything else I could need that will keep me writing for hours. It's all warmed up for this year's NaNoWriMo. There's even enough room to put a plate of food on the desk while the keyboard sits in my lap, so I really don't have to take time out from writing. And all of my personal decorations make it seem like home, even though it's situated right in my bedroom.

I like your space. I have my notebook and reference books handy as well. I like to have maps of my area and have drawn out a map of my fictional town.
I write on my net book in room filled with favorite things. I have my grandmother's desk and the study of my favorite tiny ball jointed doll. Maybe she will write her first novel this year.

That is insane! In a good way, obviously! I am pretty much going into this with nothing, except the desire to break a writing streak. Much luck to you. :)

Wow!..all that's missing is the "Curtain of Oz".

You're writing space looks fantastic! I love that you have notebooks and drawing tablets and references all ready and waiting. I carry at least three notebooks with me everywhere for just that certain moment when I'll get inspired by something. Thank you for sharing your space!

The girl in the chair is the cutest part of this.

Glad to see you favour a Mac, too. :) Your writing space looks cheery and well prepared. I'm fortunate to have an extra bedroom in our house that I converted for my own office. I've personalized it with wall shelves, a big bookcase and both a good-sized desk and a worktable so I can really spread my work around and then close the door on the mess. I love having that private space but still find myself heading for the family room to get comfy on the couch with my laptop. I don't think I accomplish as much there, however, so will be using my office more during NaNoWriMo. Gotta get those daily 1,667 words done. Happy NaNo-ing!!

I love your writing space, I wish I could have that much room. I share a room with my sister, which includes the desk in our room. Lets just say it doesnt get to stay to clean with a middle school little sister.

Happy Writing

Love your computer screen.

I wish I was half as organized as you seem to be. Best of luck with NaNo.
