A little video from the Write-A-Thon

Back at NaNoHeadQuarters on Sunday we tried to figure out how many words were written at the Write-a-Thon on Saturday night. While we had everyone sign in with their word count, somehow we were so hopped up on sugar, vegetarian lasagna and the idea of sitting in a room with 120 other novelists toiling away that we totally forgot to have people give us their ending word counts.

However, we did an informal poll of the Municipal Liaisons in attendance and extrapolated an average from that an estimate that over 200,980 words were logged from The Womens Building Ballroom.

No matter how many words that made it into nascient nascent novels, or how many novelists were there, it was an awesome night because our proximity to each other made us feel connected to everyone else in NaNoLand.

I would love to go to one of these, particularly the night of writing dangerously, but SF is too darn far for me. Have fun without me.

The night of writing dangerously is on my birthday !! November 22, also the birthday of Jamie Lee Curtis and the anniversary of the tres sad assass. of JFK.

I would so love to be there! but alas this author of Can Lit is a starving artist of the writerly persuasion...

but i will be there in nano wrimo spirit, with sweet treats at hand and carpal tunnel on the rise

cheers all!

What else happens at the Write-A-Thon. I'm a new member to NaNoWriMo and I was thinking about doing one just for fun consisting of a bunch of kids from our school that have no chance of going to San Fransisco. I thought it would be fun to have one of our own at the same time so I figured it would probably be a good idea to get an idea of what all goes on at the Write-A-Thon.

Thanks for the correction Mike! I'm addicted to firefox 2.0 obviously and miss my spellcheck when I'm not using it (don't tell anyone I posted this from the office!).

It's "nascent" not "nascient."

And NaNoLand? ...That's great! "It's NaNo's World--we just live in it!" Haha! Haha! That could be a bumper sticker.
